Kōkua for Maui

Kōkua for Maui

ʻAʻohe hana nui ke alu ʻia
No task is too big when done together by all.

Fairmont Kea Lani is dedicated to supporting our colleagues and local community throughout our island’s road to recovery. Acknowledging that there are both urgent and long-term needs, we are deploying a range of efforts to provide aid now, as well as activating initiatives to ensure we remain impactful into the future.

As we evolve our efforts to further support our community, please know that you play an important role in the island’s recovery. As the impact of the wildfires now threatens our island’s economic future, the return of responsible travel is imperative to sustaining the livelihoods of our ʻohana and many Maui residents.

In alignment with Governor Green and the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority’s statement emphasizing the importance of travel to the non-impacted areas of Maui, including Wailea, we look forward to welcoming you with aloha.

If you have the means to contribute, we encourage you to donate to one of the following funds.

  • Fairmont Kea Lani Kōkua Fund – Providing immediate and long-term financial assistance directly to Fairmont Kea Lani colleagues and their families who have been impacted by the island’s wildfires and subsequent economic impact
  • Maui United Way – Maui fire relief fund to directly support those impacted by the fires
  • Maui Strong Fund – Hawaiʻi Community Foundation’s fund for disaster response and recovery
  • Maui Food Bank – Local organization dedicated to providing hunger relief to those in need

If there is one thing we are certain of, it is that even in the heart-wrenching depth of loss, our community will come together and rise. Please join our efforts to kōkua (help), support, and uplift one another during these devastating times.

Mālama Maui

Out of the tens of thousands of islands in the Pacific Ocean, there is only one that bears the name Maui. Given that the legends and feats of the deity Maui span across all of Polynesia and even as far back as the Philippines, this almost seems strange.
