Mālama ʻOhana: Each year, Fairmont Kea Lani cares for our island community through our ongoing support of more than 50 local non-profit organizations through fundraising campaigns, donations of goods and services.
Caring for our Children (Mālama Kamaliʻi)
Maui Food Bank: Through ongoing support of Maui Food Bank’s Aloha Backpack Buddies program, Fairmont Kea Lani helps provide critical funds to kids in need with a backpack containing six healthy meals for the weekend when school is not in session. Throughout 2020, when children were learning from home, Fairmont Kea Lani held its largest fundraiser to date to support the increase in food insecurity of families across the island with Family Food Boxes.
Keiki Cupboard: Fairmont Kea Lani supports an annual school supply drive with Keiki Cupboard to provide school essentials to children on Maui, Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi.
Holiday Gift Drive: Through our partnership with Queen Liliʻuokalani Trust, our colleagues donate age appropriate gifts to island children. In many instances, this may be the only gift they receive under the tree.
Hawai’i STEM Education Program: Provide students with education opportunities with Virtual Reality learning modules about careers in environmental science highlighting Fairmont Kea Lani’s green technology.
Mask Up Drives: Supporting health and wellbeing of our island community through hosting of mask up drives and distribution of face coverings.
Donations: Fairmont Kea Lani donates retired sneakers from our Fairmont Fit program to kids in need at Maui High School.
Supporting Our Shelters
Shelter Dinners: Executive Chef Pang and our culinary team prepares monthly shelter dinners for the residents at Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Shelter. Volunteers donate their time to serve dinner each month. During the holiday season, Christmas dinner is prepared for Women Helping Women Shelter.
Donations: Fairmont Kea Lani gives a second life to retired furniture by donating retired linens and other housekeeping items to the shelter to help those in need. Annual drives collect women and children’s clothing to support Women Helping Women participants.
Partnering With Local Non-Profits
Donations: Non-profit partners include Maui Humane Society, American Red Cross, Toys for Tots, East Maui Watershed. Fairmont Kea Lani offers support for these nonprofits by donating retired towels & linens to the shelter to help those in need.
Fundraising: Fairmont Kea Lani’s fundraising efforts in support of Charity Walk help benefit more than 100 non-profit agencies here in Maui County.
Helping foster the next generation of culinarians at University of Hawaiʻi Maui College
Scholarships: Over 20+ years of fundraising efforts to support Culinary Arts education. In 2014 we launched our Tylun Pang Aspiring Chef Scholarship. This annual scholarship provides work experience and mentorship for culinary arts students.
Mentorship: Fairmont Kea Lani leaders work with hospitality students from UH Maui College to help them prepare for the workplace with mock interviews and other career training support initiatives.
Caring For Our Kea Lani Heartists
Food Boxes: Throughout the pandemic, Fairmont Kea Lani provided farm boxes filled with local produce and proteins to each colleague during hotel closure and reopening. These boxes benefitted colleagues and their families as well as supported local farmers and purveyors.
Kea Lani SuperHeroes: Recognition of local heroes both across the island and within our Heartist (colleague) ʻohana. Sharing stories of thier contributions to our community during the global pandemic.
Vaccine Clinics: Hosted vaccine clinics to ensure accessibility for colleagues.
