Aloha Backpack Buddies
The Maui Food Bank’s wonderful Aloha Backpack Buddies program is one of the Fairmont Kea Lani’s longest-standing volunteer opportunities. This program provides underprivileged school kamali’i (children) with six healthy meals to cover their weekend while school is not in session.
Ēwe Hānau o ka ʻĀina
Fairmont Kea Lani partners with Uhiwai o Haleakalā to offer ʻĒwe Hānau o ka ʻĀina, an educational experience that invites guests to explore Maui’s native ecosystems, biodiversity, cultural heritage, and traditional Hawaiian practices. Through hands-on learning with local experts, participants discover the importance of restoring and preserving Hawaiʻi’s natural resources while embracing the spirit of mālama ʻāina (caring for the land).
Coastal Marine Debris Monitoring
Fairmont Kea Lani partners with Pacific Whale Foundation to support ocean conservation and protect Maui’s marine ecosystems. Guests are invited to participate in marine debris monitoring and beach cleanups, helping preserve Hawaiʻi’s coastlines and protect marine life.

Rooted in Aloha
Rooted in Aloha is a reforestation initiative created by Fairmont Kea Lani in partnership with Skyline Conservation. Through restoration of the native forests on the slopes of Haleakalā, this visitor supported conservation program provides an opportunity for people to directly support preservation of Maui’s native resources.
