Mālama Maui: Through year-round efforts, we work with our island partners to preserve and protect our natural resources, restore habitats for native species and educate and share our heritage with our colleagues and our guests.

Preserving Habitats for Native Species and Natural Resources

Rooted in Aloha: Our Fairmont Kea Lani Reforestation Initiative in partnership with Skyline Conservation to support rebuilding Maui’s native forests on the slopes of Haleakalā.

Hawaiʻi Wildlife Fund: Partnership in protecting Hawaiʻi’s critically endangered Hawksbill Sea Turtle. Donations to support the mission of protecting native wildlife and marine preservation.

Reef Safe Sunscreen: Fairmont Kea Lani has been a leader in offering reef safe sunscreen to all guests of the resort.  Sunscreen stations are located at the beach and pool pavilion.

Partners of Trilogy’s Blue ‘Aina Program: Reef Clean Up partnership with Trilogy Excursions to directly clean reefs and beaches and raised money in support.  Additional clean ups are held throughout the year at nearby beaches across Maui.

International Coastal Clean Up, Earth Day, Earth Hour: Participation in international events including coastal cleanups, zero waste initiatives, energy saving movements.

Hawaiʻi Island Land Trust: Participation in annual fundraiser to “Give Back the Beach” to drive awareness to mission and land preservation. Ongoing guest activities to visit HILT lands and educate on the need for preservation.

Mālama Maui Nui: Partnership to reduce waste and encourage responsible recycling.

Perpetuating Cultural Heritage

A&B Sugar Museum: Partnership with Alexander and Baldwin Sugar Museum to share the stories of the plantation heritage at Kō with dinner experience.

Palauea Cultural Reserve: Partner with Office of Hawaiian Affairs (OHA) to support this culturally rich archeological site as stewards in caring for the Palauea cultural site including removal of invasive plants.

Hawaiian Canoe Experience: 60 minute paddle experience offered to our guests, led by guides sharing the history of Hawaiʻi’s voyaging ancestors.

Ao`ao O Na Loko I`a O Maui: Volunteer opportunities to restore the historic fishponds of Maui.

Hawaiian Cultural Classes offered for throughout the year guests including ʻUkulele, ʻŌlelo, Hula, Lei Making.

Maui Island Lei Showcase Island wide showcase and celebration of the art of making lei. Lei makers from across the island share a variety of traditional styles of making lei.

Queen Lili’uokalani commissioned statue and annual celebration of the Queen’s legacy.


Mālama Pono: We work relentlessly to minimize the impacts associated with our operations.


Mālama ʻOhana: We partner with organizations who provide essential support and care to Maui’s youth and elderly.
