EXPERIENCE THE MERRIE MONARCH FESTIVAL – HULA KAHIKO | FRIDAY, APRIL 25TH, 2025 6:00PM – 10:00PM | LIVESTREAMED AT PILINA 

Friday honors Hula Kahiko, the ancient and deeply spiritual form of Hawaiian dance. Through traditional chants (oli), rhythmic movements, and instruments like the pahu (drum) and ipu (gourd), each hālau brings powerful stories of gods, ali‘i (chiefs), and the land to life. Dancers wear adornments made from native plants and move with intention, discipline, and deep respect. This night is filled with mana—spiritual energy—as the past is honored and remembered through every step. To witness Hula Kahiko is to feel the heartbeat of Hawai‘i.

EXPERIENCE THE MERRIE MONARCH FESTIVAL – ʻAUANA & AWARDS CEREMONY | SATURDAY, APRIL 26TH, 2025 6:00PM – 10:00PM | LIVESTREAMED AT PILINA 

The final night of the festival celebrates Hula ʻAuana, the modern style of Hula filled with grace, emotion, and storytelling. Set to sweet melodies from instruments like the ʻukulele and guitar, these dances share stories of love, laughter, island life, and aloha. With flowing costumes and expressive movement, dancers bring a fresh and heartfelt energy to the stage, blending tradition with today. The night ends with the Awards Ceremony, where top hālau and soloists are recognized for their talent, passion, and dedication. It’s a joyful and meaningful finale that honors the spirit of Hula and the beauty of Hawaiian culture.

Experience the enchanting beauty of our vibrant koi fish, celebrated for their striking colors and graceful movements. At Fairmont Kea Lani, the morning feeding of these beautiful fish has become a beloved family tradition.

TORCH LIGHTING CEREMONY | HELD DAILY BEGINNING AT 5:30PM | BEGINNING AT LOWER POOL

In keeping with tradition, skilled torch lighters ignite each torch throughout the grounds of the resort in preparation for the night ahead, ending with an oli (chant) to celebrate the occasion.
