Sunset Torch Lighting Ceremony

In keeping with time-honored tradition, skilled torch lighters gracefully illuminate each torch across the resort grounds, casting a warm glow in anticipation of the evening. The ceremony concludes with a resonant oli (chant), a poetic tribute that celebrates the moment and invites the spirit of the night to unfold.

Hoʻokumu: Celebration of Mahina ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi

E hele mai, join us on Saturday, February 28, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM for a day dedicated to honoring ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi in recognition of Hawaiian Language Month. Led by Manager of Hawaiian Culture, Jobi Miguel, the day will begin with educational storytelling on the history and importance of the Hawaiian language, alongside hula performances and a presentation by guest speaker Kumu Kiʻope Raymond. Visitors may also enjoy a runway show featuring Native Hawaiian designer Wailani Artates, as well as interactive cultural activities centered around ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi throughout the day. The celebration will conclude with live music by Maui's own Kaniala Masoe, plus opportunities to explore cultural booths and local vendors including Only Aloha Here, Makahulima, and Uhiwai ʻo Haleakalā.

Live Bluefin Tuna Carving & Pilina Anniversary Celebration

Join us as we mark two years of connection at our lobby bar & lounge, PILINA. Experience a live 300-lb sustainably sourced Bluefin tuna carving by Oʻahu fisherman Tyler Wilcox (Laʻakea Fish & Co.) in partnership with PILINA’s culinary team. Throughout the evening, guests will learn about the distinct cuts while sampling prized selections such as kama, akame, and toro, and may also order from a specialty menu of Bluefin dishes and signature rolls designed for sharing. The celebration will also feature complimentary tastings, furikake malasadas for dessert, and the debut of our PILINA Ponzu hot sauce created in collaboration with HI Spice.
